Okey Dokey! It's time for another rip-roaring POTM rendition. So, kick back and swipe through what our lab rats have deemed April's hottest stock.
Fallout fever is in full force. Since the Amazon Prime series dropped, we've sort of become Vault Dwellers ourselves. We've been binge-watching the show, rewatching our favourite scenes, and diving back into Bethesda's buggy but brilliant video games.
Don't feel put off if you're new to the franchise. The show is a captivating original story and isn't a like-for-like rehash of any tale from the Fallout games. The cast, the acting, and the set designs are all spot-on. Honestly, we can't big this show up enough. Get it watched.
Our second POTM comes courtesy of Mancunian streetwear stalwarts CLINTS Inc. After 14 months of development, we're finally introduced to the OASIS, and it's a thing of beauty. The futuristic pair takes design cues from organic architecture, boasting a mix of tumbled and textured leathers and suedes across the top, with window-like features on the sidewalls. Bravo.
Sticking with the footwear-sphere, we've been digging the digital-inspired design of ASICS and HIDDEN NY's GEL-NYC collaboration. Designed to appeal to designers, the shoe features digitalised Tiger Stripes and a grid graphic at the right heel. They're like a Photoshop canvas for your foot.
Saucony treated us to another Y2K classic with its ProGrid Omni 9. Metallic overlays, iridescent tones, and reflective hits – proper '00s.
If you're into trail running, you might be familiar with NNormal's Tomir 2.0 silhouette. Its tagline is "Built stronger. To run longer. With more cushioning." How have they achieved this? They bolstered durability with updated stitching and anti-slip laces. Increased running longevity with improved rocker and midsole geometry. They improved cushioning with an EExpure Midsole, offering lightweight shock absorption with high energy return.
The last pair to make its way into this month's picks is the adidas Whitworth SPZL. You don't often get to see an adidas Originals silhouette without 3-Stripes, but the beauty of the SPEZIAL line treats us to stunners like these. Top-class stuff from Gary Aspden and the team.
What else has been going on this month?..
Well, we're very big fans of Filipino comic book artist Carlo Pagulayan's Star Wars Jango Fett #2 cover.
While we're on the sci-fi topic, we'd have done anything to go to RENAISSANCE 2.0 x PETER YEE presented by SPIN.FASHION in Hong Kong. The exhibition showcased 22 iconic Oakley pieces from the past, present, and future, all curated from the personal archive of Peter Yee, the creative mastermind behind the Oakley logo and the space-age designs that shaped the '90s and '00s culture. And if that wasn't enough to make us nerd out, you could explore the exclusive archive pieces through interactive augmented reality and virtual reality experiences. We're praying the exhibition tours.
Clothing-wise, one collection that caught our eye comes from inclusivity champions wecanfly. Founded by Jake Baker-Cliff, the label believes disability does not equate to inability. Crafted from premium Halley Stevensons waxed cotton, they recently created three purple sample jackets that were Eco Printed during a wecanfly inclusive workshop with the Down's Syndrome Development Trust (DSDT). Great jackets from a label doing great things.
Lastly, Patta has opened a new store over in Lagos, Nigeria – on the off chance you find yourself over in the city, go check it out.
Speaking of Africa, we'd like to give a shoutout to Russ Cook – aka the Hardest Geezer – for his incredible fundraising run across the entire length of the continent. 352 days. 16,300km ran. Over £1 million raised. We salute you, Sir.
That's all we've got for this month. Transport yourself back to our REPORTS hub for even more servings of knowledge.
