It’s time for our pièce de résistance - PART TWO of MORPRIME Industries™ collaboration with @hanonshop to celebrate @mizuno_sportstyle’s CONTENDER silhouette retro treatment.
You all know that we love a swipe-tastic story, don’t you? WELL, our team was given unrestricted access to MIZUNO’s gold-laden archives, dipping and diving between landmark moments framing the Japanese brand’s image - in tandem with some truly remarkable steps around that theoretical wall all ideas reside behind.
So - swipe across, digest our offerings/research and maybe, just maybe drop some feedback in the comments below!
Ageing gracefully, '95's Italian rework
As we all know, Nike’s arrangement of thick leather panelling wasn’t an example of fresh-faced chic produced specifically for 2019’s Supreme Air Max 95 ‘Made in Italy’ capsule. This carousel of plush, dagger-shaped scoring beneath perforated hide-porn floated to 2001’s surface within a December-launched LUXURY goods pack.
MORPRIME Industries™ particular pair was purchased by @jnrboss Sports & Things, who provided LONDON’s enthusiasts with a majority of their pairs.
For those who weren’t blessed with meeting @jnrboss - he was fortunate enough to hold one of the very few available size runs; meaning, if you know of a pair in England’s capital there’s a very high possibility that it came from him.
When New York’s SUPREME took on this article of premium goodness, they tapped up the pinnacle of our beloved silhouette’s prowess. Materials were inspired by those used to produce heavy jackets and high-end motor vehicle internal trim of its time.
Donning a Cuban, Nike's South American tribute
In line with Nike’s 30 years of AIR MAX 90 celebrations, Swoosh produced a pair that carried somewhat more sparkle than we’d expect - gracing shelves with its presence mid-2020.
Whilst numbers weren’t overly limited, this takes us back to times when high-profile iterations could be found on your local shopfloor - perhaps even SALE RACKS.
Follow us on a swiping journey, dotting between glistening details and absorb every feature that sets these apart from your average.
Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a... sneaker can?
Today, we have one of the rarest articles in Adidas footwear history that boast an existence - one many Three Stripes collectors are none the wiser of, especially as a two-part capsule. This duo was introduced to coincide with the release of Andrew Garfield’s take on The Amazing Spider-Man, along with Jamie Foxx lacing up those immensely experienced boots as Electro.
With upper-construction in mind, we observe a weaving of blue, red and black to symbolise Spidey’s iconic suit whilst Electro’s pair adopts our namesake electricity-influenced print. For us, these play on Nike’s early-’00s ‘Lightning’ Air Presto.
We give you good versus evil, heroes versus villains - Spider-Man taking on his Electro nemesis through Germany’s sporting-industry leading eyes.
Awareness with the New Balance WR993KMC
There’s ALWAYS something special about CHARITY sneakers, in fact, when a personal cause is attached to our products of leather, mesh and vulcanised rubbers we tend to hold on with a little extra gusto.
Boston giants NEW BALANCE have been working hand-in-hand with Susan G. Komen since 1989, committing an occasional silhouette to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation that fights the disease on ALL fronts. This pair was coined ‘Lace Up for the Cure’.
Today’s model of choice is a plush, pink suede 993 that packed MORE than your standard punch - we’re gifted with RIBBON detailing on both heels and the sneaker’s iconic tongue window. But of course you can observe this from photos - can’t you?
Instead of pursuing a VISUAL analysis route, we give to you a token regarding Komen’s inspirational birth from the depths of heart-break; somewhat of a BEAUTIFUL back-story.
Follow us back to 1980 when Komen founder, Nancy G. Brinker, promised her dying sister to pursue every avenue in bringing Breast Cancer to an END. Starting out with a single shoe box full of pending donor IDs and a mere $200 to play with, Nancy’s vision BLOOMED into what would become the planet’s LARGEST (non-profit) combatant of Breast Cancer - surmounting investments over $3billion in research and health outlets spanning 60+ countries. It’s been an incredible four decades, going from 1982’s founding strength to strengths earmarking a 38% REDUCTION in related deaths at the peak of 2014.
With every sale, 5% was DONATED to the charity in question - making for an IMPRESSIVE donation sum every time this now infamous duo come together.
Another tribute to the late MF DOOM
In iconically belated fashion, our lab-rats deemed today as the PRIME window for resident HIP HOP aficionados @cazsquatch & @tvpartyollie to break down notable projects enlisted within MF DOOM’s inexhaustible portfolio - a follow-up from previous MORPRIME Industries™ efforts to immortalise Metal Face’s duo of butter soft Clark’s Wallabees.
If you didn’t know prior, after taking a swipe you most certainly will. Daniel Dumile tapped into the minds of artists globally, piecing together some of the most notable projects in recording history whilst carrying on with humble euphoria. To name but a few; @Gorillaz, @Madlib and @czarface_eso all relished DOOM’s honourable production and flow through collaborative ventures at one point or another
Whilst we take a look behind the mask and evoke positive memories of yesteryear pleasure, perhaps our comments section houses the perfect environment for our readers to elicit these emotions.
ALL CAP. RIP DOOM.

MOBILE SUIT REPORT is an on going series in which MORPRIME Industries™ highlight the franchise of GUNDAM’s iconic - you guessed it - Mobile Suits! 🦾

Europe's Nike to the World
Collaborations have become an integral part of the fashion industry as we know it.
In fact, sporting partnerships seem to be a far more common occurrence than before; we have PSG accepting Jordan Brand’s kit contract, 424 teaming up with adidas Football for concept kits and of course - PALACE Skateboards stitching their name into the very jersey Cristiano Ronaldo donned during game time.
However, how many of you would be surprised to learn that these aren’t primary instances of street-to-stadium transitions? Whilst it isn’t the first example, follow us back to South Africa’s 2010 World Cup where vuvuzela could be heard worldwide, Suarez robbed Ghana of semi-final prosperity and Lampard’s ‘goal’ against Germany… wasn’t. Who remembers Nike’s SIX(6) capsule?
It was simple; six artists from six countries producing six collaborations in tandem with one another - there was a LOT going on. A handful of silhouettes made their way into artistically unforgiving hands, having DNA surgically removed and REINJECTED with inspired ideas and overly eye-catching concepts intertwined.
For this installment, MORPRIME Industries™ delve into the mind of Boris Tellegen - a Dutch artist going by the name of DELTA. Fortunately, his love for football meant ALL viable routes were predetermined and trademark GEOMETRIC prints were welcomed alongside block-heavy type embroidery aplenty.
DELTA curated nine products, three of which sat proudly on foot with one taking the wheel as driver of today’s post - a dual-shade hybrid, iconically clad in black and orange to represent Holland’s ROYAL family colours.
To make the occasion even more momentous, this was the LUNAR CHUKKA WOVEN’s debut year on consumer feet - combining the Lunaracer sole unit first seen at Beijing’s 2008 Olympics with a micro-Swoosh branded Chukka Woven upper.
Lunarlon cushioning is the final product in Kevin HOFFER and Eric AVAR’S exploration of innovational comfort-orientated boundaries; fusing EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) with NBR (Nitrile Rubber) on a quest inspired by responsive astronaut movements and an overall weightlessness experienced in OUTER SPACE.

MORPRIME Industries™️ for HANON: The Mizuno Contender
We at MORPRIME Industries™️ partnered up with the @hanonshop team to celebrate sportswear brand @mizuno_sportstyle rebirthing their Contender silhouette for SS21 - the first retro since its 1995 conception.
This colourway in particular is a tribute to exactly that, one of the OG palettes lining shelves for consumers to enjoy.
So, welcome - MIZUNO’s Contender. An example of ‘90s prowess combined with technological innovation and running finesse.
But wait, this is only part 1... there’s more to come.
A story of two halves, the Nike React Presto x BEAMS 'Dharma'
You either love it or hate it, but BEAMS took on Nike’s hybrid PRESTO REACT silhouette and injected their signature gusto - sitting heads-and-shoulders above competitors in terms of innovation and progressive aesthetic presence. This is quite literally a sneaker of two halves - its evenly split uppers and a combination of two separate models allows the malleable ‘00s Presto upper to sit upon modern REACT comfort and technology in seamless fashion.
BEAMS first opened to the public back in 1976, situated inside the building that later became their HARAJUKU outpost. In fact, to this day they remain privately owned with a HQ invested within TOKYO’s fashion world and donning around 150 stores spread across global locations.
In turn, this collaboration takes inspiration from brightly coloured Daruma Dolls; a detail of common practice within Buddhism whilst being generally accepted as a talisman of good luck. Bearded man aside, BEAMS integrated a multitude of colours in order to reap a lucky wearer’s fortune - green as good health’s representative, orange in hope for positive educational grades and white celebrating purity; there’s a LOT to observe.
At the time, this launched with two t-shirts and a pair of shorts in tow - a real RUNNING capsule!
Take a swipe from LEFT to RIGHT in order to uncover our sneaker in question’s VIBRANT side!
A 'Striped' history: EQT
For years now, ADIDAS have produced extensive variations of apparel and footwear encompassed within a bracket labelled as EQT - short for Equipment. We should probably give a little background information before diving into the hard stuff; 1991, a big year for NASA in launching their landmark Hubble Telescope and an equally momentous 12 month for Three-Stripes which quite literally bungeed the team a moment away from bankruptcy’s unforgiving fall.
Peter Moore gave Oregon’s Nike the AIR JORDAN 1; surpassing all targets pencilled into MJ’s now-infamous signature sneaker contract moreover birthing an entire consumer platform based on nothing more than leather, a smidge of rubber and plastic aglets. Moore was (and is) a genius in his own right, but what he did with adidas’ EQT range was nothing short of BIBLICAL - he used the motto, ‘everything that’s essential, nothing that’s not’ which remains prevalent nearly three decades later.
It wasn’t Moore alone though, for marketing brilliance (student take note) please look into the portfolio and OUTLANDISH track-record tethered to Rob Strasser’s unequivocal career. This was the gentleman who agreed terms with McEnroe and Jordan for Nike; the same gentleman who started a small ‘Sports Inc.’ brand consulting firm with Moore after quitting Nike HQ in 1987.
1989 comes along and Sports Inc.’s phone rings, they visit adidasHQ in Dassler’s hometown of HERZOGENAURACH and return to sportswear’s 'Silicon Valley’ of OREGON as quickly as they departed; this time with an agreement to rejuvenate their former-arch enemy’s name. EQT was born, stripping archived essentials back to ‘The Best of adidas’, rebranding a pivotal key in our culture’s metaphorical lock whilst leaning heavily on an iconic four-colour palette.
Strasser unfortunately passed in 1993 at the young age of 46; Moore still consults for his German counterparts.
This post acts as a tribute to two of the most important names to have ever graced adidas’ payroll; the team who single (or dual? Ha!) handedly helped two industry giants divulge in SUCCESS. This is how the EQT OG came to exist, please enjoy a handful of pairs draped in the limited yet celebrated palette above.

Nike introduces a flavoursome Dunk Low iteration
We’ll keep this short and sweet (please don’t be sour about it!). In 2020, the Nike Dunk SB came back at an unprecedented level drawing collaborations from here, there and everywhere. However, 2021 seems to mark an opportunity for its stripped-back, original form to take poll position throughout the next fiscal year.
To further this, we’re seeing a lot of smaller sizes being included going forward amidst the Dunk Low influx; progress!
Here we take a little look at the glorious Nike Dunk Low ‘Medium Curry’, swipe to absorb an abundance of information cells curated by our droids at the MORPRIME Industries™️ laboratory.
When 1982 birthed royalty, Boston's original 990
MORPRIME Industries™ and @newbalancelifestyle teamed up to celebrate the reintroduction of a sneaker dragged kicking and screaming from Boston’s 1982 archive - the pair that prefaced pig-suede uppers, elements of reflective 3m panelling and an injection of dual-density midsole compounds whilst welcoming ‘New Balance Grey’ onto shopfloors amongst other landmarks.
Welcome, the 990v1 - a product of four developmental laboratory years, ‘82’s first $100 shoe.

MORPRIME Industries™ Picks of the Month: March '21
It’s that time, ALREADY. We say ‘already’ like this ISN’T the first time we’ve been punctual...
Anyway, March is behind us and April is upon us - roll on SUMMER! However, before we get ahead of ourselves there’s a minor blemish that requires our attention; WELCOME, MORPRIME Industries’™️ POTM.
First up, WHITE DWARF is a premium Warhammer publication produced by Games Workshop. Why bring this to your attention? WELL, issue number 462 accompanies a Steam Voucher allowing access to 12 Warhammer games for FREE in addition to 75% off other titles and EVEN downloadable content. FUN! LOTS OF FUN.
Next, we thought it rude to cast a shadow over somewhat of an elephant in the room, taking shape as Nike’s Air Huarache ‘Scream Green’ 30 year retro - especially, as our team worked tirelessly with @footpatrol_ldn to launch an immensely comprehensive three-part campaign.
Standing at a mammoth 49cm tall, METROID PRIME’s Samus Helmet takes its place on our mantelpiece of resin collectibles - meticulously detailed with individual numbering for owner’s pleasure.
Whilst £400+ may seem steep to the untrained eye, @first4figures spared no efforts in replicating Samus’ space age metallic finish.
Leaving one of our favourites until last - @end_clothing executed their sneaker-rendition of the human brain with immense gusto, combining transparent mesh with vessel-like lacing structure and brightly decorated outsoles. To put it plainly, END. really got inside the head of footwear collectors across the globe, shipping each box alongside faux-brain stress-balls as a cherry on top. Who DOESN’T love a gimmick?
Interestingly, they were originally coined as ‘Sneakerheads’ during that experimental sample stage back in 2017.
What did we miss? What topped YOUR March hit list?
